Ketchup anyone??

I should have known better...the love of ketchup runs in the family! For years I have given Josh a hard time about not only the unbelievable amount of ketchup he eats, but what he will eat it with. Needless to say, Finn had some ketchup with his dinner tonight and I'm not sure what he ate more of...ketchup or tater tots? I guess the answer lies in the pictures and all I could do was plop him in the bath afterwards:)

Daddy Daycare

Every Sat. is Daddy Daycare and as you can see, Finn LOVES it!  The weather is finally cooperating so Josh and Finn got to spend a lot of time outside yesterday.  But since we don't have a pool, Josh decided to make due with what he called a "redneck pool." A cooler filled with water sure seemed fun as they were able to blow bubbles, splash, and get wet! Another fun filled Saturday with many more to come! Thanks Daddy Daycare!

A day of firsts...

Finn was opening his first gift of the evening and was of course more interested in the wrapping paper than what was actually inside. But much to his surprise it was a parachute which he was so excited about!  Lots of fun with nana for years to come I'm sure!

And although we couldn't get him to "play" with his cake, he still managed to get some in his hair!! He also got his first radio flyer wagon from nana and papa and we can't wait to put it to good use with all this great weather we've been having. One birthday down and so many more to look forward to! And of course as with any good party comes a good mess!

Memorial Day weekend

We were lucky enough to spend the holiday weekend at the lake with family. We were blessed with good weather and even a little some what "good fishing." Finn even got to enjoy a little pre-birthday celebration. And" although I wouldn't allow anyone to sing "Happy Birthday" until the actual big day, we did all sing "If You're Happy and You Know It..." before he dug into his cupcake.  Spoiled as usual, we all had a blast and can't wait for future outings.

Easter weekend

Okay so I know it's almost May and Easter was ages ago but now that Finn is mobile our time is limited.  Much of it these days is spent following him around as he continues to explore every nook and cranny of the house. Some his favorite things to do right now include climbing the stairs, dancing to dad and his guitar, and taking baths! With the new addition of cousin Noah, Tuesdays have become much more interesting at grandmas house.  I can't wait until they are old enough to play and keep each other busy. In the meantime Finn is usually very curious of Noah and if he's awake all he seems
to want to do is touch and play with Noahs face. It's amazing how our little one has already grown so much and now to think we are only a few weeks away from celebrating his first birthday!!  We just try and continue to enjoy the time we have with family and cherish whatever moment we are in!

A Finn First...

Is it SPRING yet?

Okay so after a lunch date with family, Finn and I got a brief taste of the beautiful sunshine.  But it wasn't enough only feeling the warmth while we traveled car to restaurant and then back again.  So after we got home from lunch I decided it was time to dig the stroller out and get some vitamin D!  Twenty minutes later, I realized our walk was going to be 4-wheeling through messy slush rather than enjoying the sunshine, so we only made it around the block.  But I am proud to say we at least got the "Oprah and Dr. Oz recommended" 20 min. of unfiltered sunshine/vitamin D.  I will say it might be awhile before we are so quick to try going for a walk again during a North Dakota spring day.

Swimming!

Yes it is possible in North Dakota, in the middle of March, to go swimming! We took Finn to the Canad Inn (a big hotel here) to visit the water park for the first time.   Although he was a little young for most of the action, we had a blast!  It took him a little while to get used to all the splashing and I think he was even feeling a little under the weather but by the end he was all smiles and we can't wait to go back!!
