We were lucky enough to spend the holiday weekend at the lake with family. We were blessed with good weather and even a little some what "good fishing." Finn even got to enjoy a little pre-birthday celebration. And" although I wouldn't allow anyone to sing "Happy Birthday" until the actual big day, we did all sing "If You're Happy and You Know It..." before he dug into his cupcake. Spoiled as usual, we all had a blast and can't wait for future outings.

Is it SPRING yet?
Okay so after a lunch date with family, Finn and I got a brief taste of the beautiful sunshine. But it wasn't enough only feeling the warmth while we traveled car to restaurant and then back again. So after we got home from lunch I decided it was time to dig the stroller out and get some vitamin D! Twenty minutes later, I realized our walk was going to be 4-wheeling through messy slush rather than enjoying the sunshine, so we only made it around the block. But I am proud to say we at least got the "Oprah and Dr. Oz recommended" 20 min. of unfiltered sunshine/vitamin D. I will say it might be awhile before we are so quick to try going for a walk again during a North Dakota spring day.
Swimming!
Yes it is possible in North Dakota, in the middle of March, to go swimming! We took Finn to the Canad Inn (a big hotel here) to visit the water park for the first time. Although he was a little young for most of the action, we had a blast! It took him a little while to get used to all the splashing and I think he was even feeling a little under the weather but by the end he was all smiles and we can't wait to go back!!

Hey Everybody!
It's me again. I've let Mom run this ship for a while now, but it's time I give you some info from my point of view. I am almost 9 months old and I keep hearing everyone talk about this "crawling" thing. I've seen other babies do it, and personally, I think it's overrated. The walking thing looks like more of a challenge, so that's what I'm shooting for. I've seen myself in the mirror in the past few days and let me tell you, I love the way my teeth look. I think they make me look tougher. I have noticed that my belly is sticking out more and it's harder to see my feet, but I blame that on the Cheerios. Hey, if Mom and Dad keep putting them in front of me, I'm going to eat them. Anyway, life is pretty good right now. I have a new cousin, whose name is Noah, and I can't wait until he grows up a little bit so we can hang out and share baby stories. I'll have to keep them fairly clean, since he is just a youngin'. We are all looking forward to warmer weather, especially Mom, so we can get outside and breathe the spring air. Meanwhile, here are some recent pictures of me to keep you updated. By the way, I'm really not as messy as the one picture. I just play it up a bit to keep them laughing. See ya!

2 teeth and counting...
At 8 months Finn officially has 2 teeth! His 2 bottom teeth came powering through over the last couple of weeks. He is still a lot of fun as every day brings a new like/dislike, a new sign of excitement, and a new noise. He isn't crawling yet but loves to pull himself up to a standing position. So only time will tell until our our little curious boy will be walking.

Finn giggles
Here is a sample, finally, of Finn and his "motorboat" giggles. He's only getting more vocal these days with new sounds and squeals. He recently got his first tooth and so now that we've made it through one teething experience I'm hoping the ones to follow will be a little easier to handle. Grandma was here for a visit last week, only in time for one of the coldest weeks of the year. (lows of 40 below zero!!!) But she toughed it out and is now safe and sound home in CO with 60 degree weather. Not that I'm jealous or anything.
Finn isn't quite crawling but he has found that rolling can usually get him where he wants to be. He's getting better at keeping himself occupied these days whether its eating cheerios on his own or talking to toys or staring at Kitty. We are so anxious of the days to come and can not believe he's grown so much, weighing 21 lbs. already! Now that I think I have this video thing down, I'll try and post more often!

Okay, I'll be the one to say it...Thank God the Holidays are OVER! I never expected the hustle and bustle of working, traveling outside of town, and handling a little one to be so exhausting!! But we did it, I survived and as my dad would say "Bah Humbug." Sorry, but it's the truth! Being a new parent can be overwhelming, but I think everyone already knows that. Either way, I think Finn had a blast. Even outside of his daily routine and with seeing new friends and family, he was a trooper, smiles and all! We got a video camera as a family gift (Thanks Dad;) so videos should follow shortly with our regular updates. In the meantime here a few pics from our holiday season.

love & hate relationship
It started off so well, we both had bets on whether or not Finn would cry and as you can see we were both kind of right as I said "no, he's good with new faces" and Josh thought "he'll cry right away". So we put him on the lap of Mrs. Clause and it took a minute but he smiled! Then he looked over his shoulder and saw Santa and it was tears from there on! Best of both worlds I guess you could say. One year down visiting Santas Village and only many more to follow! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
